Abstract

The issue of human trafficking is a serious problem at the global level because it involves a series of human rights violations, such as exploitation, violence and kidnapping of vulnerable individuals. Previous research has revealed the complexity and impact of human trafficking, with a focus on prevention and protection as key elements in reducing the prevalence of this crime. Analysis of government efforts to prevent and protect victims emphasizes the important role of government agencies and collaboration between agencies in creating comprehensive solutions. This research also examines the modus operandi of traffickers, especially high wages as a means of attracting victims. Identification of internal and external factors, as well as barriers to addressing human trafficking crimes, provides a deep understanding of the complex nature of this problem. The role of institutions such as the Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) has come into focus, highlighting the obstacles to investigations in providing legal protection to victims. Law no. 21 of 2007 concerning the Elimination of Trafficking in Persons is the main legal basis, although the evaluation noted deficiencies, in the protection of foreign victims. The importance of victims' rights to compensation is analyzed, including judges' understanding of victim protection to provide a more comprehensive view of the justice system. This study applies literature-based methods to explore the urgency of legal protection for victims of human trafficking. Through detailed analysis of previous findings, this study provides a comprehensive picture of the status of legal protection and fulfillment of victims' rights to restitution. Overall, this study reflects the complexity of the human trafficking problem and emphasizes the importance of collaboration between governments, law enforcement agencies, and related agencies.
