This article examines the international legal perspectives on balancing environmental protection and economic development. It explores the challenges and opportunities associated with achieving sustainable development while safeguarding ecological integrity. The study aims to analyze the effectiveness of international legal frameworks and policies in harmonizing environmental and economic interests. Using a qualitative approach, this research reviews relevant international treaties, case laws, and policy documents to identify key principles and best practices. The findings indicate that although international legal instruments provide a foundation for sustainable development, implementation gaps and conflicting national interests often hinder their effectiveness. This article highlights the need for stronger international cooperation and adaptive legal mechanisms to address emerging environmental challenges. The implications of this study are significant for policymakers, legal practitioners, and scholars seeking to enhance the compatibility of environmental protection and economic growth within international law.
