Abstract

This study examines the role of international trade law in addressing global inequalities. It explores how existing trade regulations impact the economic disparities between developed and developing nations. The objective is to analyze whether current legal frameworks promote equitable economic growth or perpetuate structural imbalances. Using a qualitative approach, this research reviews relevant international treaties, trade agreements, and case studies to identify key legal mechanisms influencing global wealth distribution. The findings indicate that while international trade law has the potential to reduce inequalities, its effectiveness is hindered by asymmetrical power dynamics and biased provisions favoring economically dominant countries. This study highlights the need for reforming trade policies to create a more inclusive global economy. The implications suggest that policymakers should prioritize fairness and equity when negotiating international trade agreements to foster sustainable development worldwide.
